We Are All Unique!

We have learned about the many things we have in common. Everybody has moments when they feel happy, sad, angry, or glad. While it is so important to find ways we are similar, it is also wonderful to celebrate how we are all unique. Each person is different and that is okay! The world sure would be boring if we were all the same!

We can learn so much from each other when we work to understand how our differences are what makes us special.

Sometimes, people think they can assume what people like or do, based on how old they are, their gender, or what they look like. This is called using stereotypes and not only can these assumptions be very wrong, they are also unfair. We can't assume what people are like by seeing what they are like on the outside- it is what is inside that makes us who we are! We need to take the time to get to know the people around us so that we can truly understand and appreciate them. Our differences make the world and interesting and wonderful place to live!
